Travis Scott has reportedly agreed to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The rumor that he would join Maroon 5 in February is out for quite a while. The Shade Room reports more details on this.

The Shade Room writes that ‘The announcement was met with different reactions from all over. However, it has been revealed that Travis signed on after the NFL agreed to join him in donating to a cause for social justice.’

TSR posts that ‘According to @billboard, a source close to the negotiations confirmed that Travis required the NFL to make a joint donation to an organization fighting for social justice in order for him to sign on as a performer for the show. Travis made a $500,000 donation in partnership with the NFL to “social justice accelerator” #DreamCorps, which is an organization founded by #VanJones.’

Travis reportedly stated the following: ‘I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation.’

Someone commented: ‘This man used to be my favorite ….trying to look past all the clown moves…asking myself what does my fav even stand for watching him fall for it all.’

Another commenter said ‘it’s unfair to put pressure on him. Right here where I live black people are supporting the saints. Everyone was tailgating, everyone was supporting. Why put pressure on just one person if other black people are still watching and supporting?’

One person said ‘Dream Corps is an excellent organization. Of course, he could have said no, but this is a step in the right direction. The NFL has covered up drug use and domestic violence for years and celebrities still performed without donating anywhere.’

Travis was in the spotlight recently again after he donated a significant amount of money to an after-school program.
