Unless you live under a rock - or at least a rock without Sky Sports readily available - you will be aware that fixtures between Spain's top two club sides are dubbed 'El Clasico', but are you familiar with a new spate of terms being used to describe some of world football's other, sometimes less glamorous matches?

talkSPORT reveals all…

THE ORIGINAL EL CLASICO BECOMES EL SPLASHICO: BARCELONA V REAL MADRID

The original 'El' was coined to describe the epically fierce battles between Spain's two biggest teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Recently these duels have been more 'El Splashico', due to the amount of diving that occurs, although both sides do appear intent on playing football this season.

EL SACKICO: BLACKBURN V BOLTON

In the past Blackburn's bottom of the table home defeat to lowly Bolton would have been referred to as a 'basement battle' or a 'relegation six-pointer', but with Steve Kean and Owen Coyle under real pressure going into the game it was, naturally, 'El Sackico'.

EL CLASICOAST: PORTSMOUTH V SOUTHAMPTON

After League One champions Southampton earned the right to reignite local footie war with fellow south-coasters Pompey, the two teams met for the first time in 2011/12 and fought out a 1-1 draw in 'El Clasicoast' on the Costa del Fratton Park.

EL CASHICO: CHELSEA V MANCHESTER CITY

Man City's recent visit to Stamford Bridge pitted the Premier League's biggest spenders together for the first time this season. Formerly known as the 'Clash of the Cash', a little surprisingly, perhaps, table-toppers City failed to Sheikh Roman's troops despite scoring in the opening minute of 'El Cashico'.

EL CLASHICO: Everton V Liverpool

No other Premier League fixture produces more red cards, on average, than when Everton and Liverpool clash in the Merseyside derby. Could alternatively be known as 'El Bashico'.

EL 'TACHEICO: STOKE V QPR

QPR's visit to the Britannia Stadium came 19 days into Movember, when most players on show were sporting impressive facial fuzz. Opening scorer Jon Walters donned a dark, thick handle-bar, although it was two-goal Heidar Helguson - together with his mousey, top lip warmer - who stole the show with two goals in a 3-2 win for Rangers.

EL CLASSICO: SPURS V ARSENAL

Don't be fooled, we haven't misspelt 'El Clasico' here. We've invented a new term with an extra 's' to emphasise the slick passing of North London duo Arsenal and Spurs this season. The Lilywhites in particular, have impressed following the arrival of midfield anchor Scott Parker, who inspired his team-mates to an impressive 2-1 victory in this season's first El Classico.

EL THRASHICO: MAN UNITED 1 MAN CITY 6

Man United fans look away now! 'El Thrashico' is what we're calling the 6-1 drubbing inflicted on the Red Devils by noisy neighbours City in September 2011, their worst home defeat since February 1955. To make matters worse, City were also the team who inflicted that 1950s 5-0 battering. Will there be another edition of El Thrashico when the teams meet again in the 2012 FA Cup third round?

EL TRASHICO: WOLVES V STOKE

Both teams receive their fair share of criticism for an overly physical approach to the game, so when Wolves met Stoke this month 'El Trashico' was born out of recognition for the rubbish brand of football on display by both teams.

EL ASHICO: ENGLAND V AUSTRALIA

Next time England play Australia at football, we're definitely calling it 'El Ashico'.

In the words of Sir Alex Ferguson... football, bloody El!
