Days of Our Lives is losing another cast member. Kyle Lowder announced on Instagram he is exiting the NBC soap opera.
It has been less than a year since Lowder returned to DOOL. He originated the role of Brady Black back in 2000. The actor left the role in 2005 but shocked fans when he revealed he was headed back to the soap opera last fall.
Although he didn’t return to Salem to play Brady, fans quickly embraced Lowder as Rex Brady, a role that was originated by The Rookie star, Eric Winter. The blonde hottie filmed his first scene as Rex last October and next week he will shoot his final scene, at least for now.

“One more week! Man, this has been fun. So grateful to have returned over the past year to the place where it all started for me, almost two decades ago. This show, and everyone associated with it, both in front of and behind the camera, will always be very special to me,” Lowder began his social media message to fans.
The actor used a photo from an upcoming feature on him in Soap Opera Digest. Lowder acknowledged the story on him, at the end of his good-bye note.
“My most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the powers that be at @nbcdays and @nbc. And of course, to all of you, the fans, for your unbridled love and enthusiasm. You remind me every single day of why I truly love what I do. Farewell, and thank you. @soapdigest on newsstands now,” the actor signed off.
Kyle Lowder is leaving Days of Our Lives once again. Although he will finish filming his run as Rex Brady next week, fans will still see him on-air for months. The daytime soap opera production schedule shoots crazy far in advance. Rex likely won’t exit Salem until close to the end of the year.

The actor also just wrapped a Hallmark A Mermaid For Christmas, which includes a couple of other soap opera stars. One Life to Live alum Jessica Morris and General Hospital star Kathleen Gati, along with Lowder’s ex-wife Arianne Zucker round out the cast.
Zucker and Lowder met on Days of Our Lives, where she has played Nicole Walker on and off for years. They are divorced but co-parent their almost 10-year-old daughter, Isabella.
